Kalyāṇa Mitta: Spiritual Friendship as the Path to Freedom
A warm welcome to fellow kalyāṇa-mitta to the Monastery Stay!
This website will introduce you to the aims and activities of the Monastery Stay program.
Firstly, this “Monastery Stay – Self Retreat” program is initiated by The Theravāda Academy (TA) of the Brahmavihara Monastery and Retreat Centre.
Monastery Stay is suitable both for beginners and advanced practitioners in meditations. Students or working adults aiming to achieve calm and peaceful minds will find this to be an elementary and handy program towards achieving your goals.
The Theravāda Academy as a learning centre of Theravāda Buddhism was established, among other visions, to embraces the learning, practice and realization of spiritual attainment and to educate the right livelihood through personal development. By introducing this Monastery Stay, we intend to promote the fundamental teaching from Buddha of morality (sīla) and cultivation of mind (bhāvanā) through practical means.
We will provide the Yogi who will participate in the program both - ‘Hardware’ and ‘Software’ for learning and practicing. Our Monastery and Retreat Centre provides a wide-ranging environment full of trees and nature, and Yogis would be able to practice sitting and walking meditation at the many sites in the Monastery.
At the same time, The Theravāda Academy is organizing a platform of kalyāṇa-mitta, providing yogis a chance to have wise and spiritual friends in the Dhamma Learning, Meditation Practices and sharing.
Under the teaching and spiritual guidance of Venerable Dhammapāla Mahāthero and other monastic sangha members, you will both enjoy your Monastery Stay and start or continue the journey to holy livelihood. At the same time you will obtain the concentrations and mindfulness through Dhamma Sharing, Sutta Teaching and Meditation Practices.
This Monastery Stay and Retreat is free-of-charge. Donations are of course welcome!
