This statue depicts the bodhisattva Maitreya sitting on throne with no fear hand gesture (abhaya) and halo is seen behind his head.

Characteristics of bodhisattva (especially Maitreya) statue: More richly attired, with garland, bracelets, necklaces and threads containing amulet box, elaborate hairdo,  and here he is seen holding a flask with his left hand, filled with liquid of immortality (to liberate sentient beings).

Princely look (depicting him as a prince at this moment before his Enlightenment in distant future) with moustaches.

The lines of drapery, hairdo, abd jewelry are deeply carved.
